The U.S. public sector employs more than 23 million workers across federal, state, and local government, across nearly every occupation. Given acute workforce pressures, these roles are ripe for apprenticeship - yet apprenticeship remains an underused workforce strategy in government.
This exploratory study draws on emerging practice to identify how intermediaries are helping government employers to overcome the barriers to apprenticeship, and the different models that are emerging that will help apprenticeship reach its full potential.
