Apprenticeships for America (AFA), in partnership with IBM, convened a group of leading employers from across the country to form the Business-Led Apprenticeship Solutions Team (BLAST). The premise was simple: if apprenticeship is to scale in the United States, it must be shaped not only by policymakers, but by the businesses expected to adopt and use it.
The conclusion is clear. Apprenticeship expansion in the United States will not be achieved through policy or employer action alone, it must be enabled through a public-private partnership and through flexible talent systems that work for employers.
