“The Apprenticeship That Saved My Life” — In Conversation with Senator Cory McCray
Join Apprenticeships for America (AFA) for a special conversation with Maryland State Senator Cory McCray, author of The Apprenticeship That Saved My Life, and Dr. Tom Kriger, Research Director at the North American Building Trades Unions (NABTU).
The discussion will explore Senator McCray’s journey from electrical apprentice to public servant and how apprenticeship opened doors to opportunity and leadership. Together, they’ll highlight the power of union-based Registered Apprenticeships, Maryland’s leadership in expanding access to quality programs, and how we can make apprenticeship a first-choice pathway for America’s workers—especially in the skilled trades and construction.
Featuring: Senator Cory McCray (D–Baltimore City) and Dr. Tom Kriger (NABTU)
Moderator: Zach Boren, Senior Vice President, Apprenticeships for America
