As part of our mission to offer our network insights from places where the apprenticeship field is more established, AFA invites you to join us at 12 ET on Dec 11th for a webinar on Apprenticeship in England: Policy and Practice Insights from Across the Pond. We will be joined by Ben Rowland, Chief Executive of the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP). AELP is our counterpart organization in England.
The Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) is a national representative boy representing organizations operating in the skills sector in England, supporting thousands of organizations and millions of learners across a wide range of training, vocational learning, and employability programs. Before becoming Chief Executive at AELP, Ben founded and led Arch Apprenticeships, which was one of the country’s biggest apprenticeships providers. He has worked extensively with government officials and politicians on skills policy and is the author of ‘Understanding Apprenticeships: A Student’s Guide’.
The session will offer the opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of the English apprenticeship system: how England has scaled apprenticeships; how apprenticeships are funded; the basics of the qualification and regulation system; and lessons the U.S. can learn from a country that has recently scaled up its apprenticeship system.
